About doctorfinder.uk
doctorfinder.uk is an independent directory of hospitals and clinics in England. It brings together official public data so you can compare providers in one place.
What it does
For a specialty and a place, it lists the NHS trusts and independent hospitals that treat patients there, each with its Care Quality Commission inspection rating and, for NHS care, its waiting time. Every figure is shown with the date it was retrieved and links back to the body that publishes it. See about the data for each source and its licence.
What it does not do
It does not rate providers itself, rank them, take bookings, carry advertising, publish reviews of named people, or give medical or clinical advice. It is a reference tool. For advice about your care, speak to your GP.
Who runs it
doctorfinder.uk is operated independently and privately in the United Kingdom. It is not connected to the NHS, the Care Quality Commission, or any organisation it lists, and it takes no funding from them. Contact is by email at [email protected].
Corrections and accountability
Every provider page has a report incorrect information link. Corrections go to [email protected]. Where a figure is wrong at source we cannot change the number, but we note the correction on the page and raise it with the source. See the methodology for how the pages are put together and how we handle withheld or unreliable figures.
Licensing
The public data is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0, except place coordinates (Ordnance Survey / ONS, OGL v3.0), town population data (GeoNames, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0), and map tiles (OpenStreetMap, Open Database Licence). Full detail is on about the data.
